This living room is part of a complete renovation of an old terraced house in Bonnevoie, Luxembourg.
Design and materials
The protagonist of the space is a modular wall bookshelf, characterized by an essential white metal structure that creates an open and airy shelving system. This solution allows books and personal objects to be displayed without visually weighing down the space, maintaining a clean and orderly aesthetic. The bookshelf dialogues with the clients’ existing furniture, a solid wood table and contemporary design chairs, which we integrated into the new project, creating continuity between past and present.
The color palette was designed to create a sophisticated and relaxing environment. The colour accent wall is not a random choice: it creates visual depth and is also echoed in the adjacent sage green kitchen, creating a chromatic thread that unifies the spaces. The green is also found in the tones of the seating, reinforcing the overall harmony of the project.
An architectural element of great character is the steel and glass portal with black profiles that separates the living room from the rest of the house. This structure, inspired by old industrial glazing, maintains the brightness of the spaces while creating a delicate visual separation. The portal perfectly balances transparency and space definition, adding a touch of industrial-contemporary elegance.
Completing the environment, the lamp with geometric elements descending from the ceiling becomes an artistic focal point, adding dynamism and personality to the space. The white low cabinet under the bookshelf offers valuable closed storage space, maintaining order and allowing only selected objects to be displayed on the upper shelves.
