The renovation of a country house, and more broadly of a rustic building, is a fascinating adventure that must necessarily take into account two aspects: preserving the historical value of this type of dwelling while ensuring a modern level of comfort. The goal of this renovation is to respect the soul of this country house and adapt it to a contemporary lifestyle.
The property is located in Steinsel, Luxembourg, and is an old detached country house dating back to the late 1800s. In the first phase, the condition of the dwelling was assessed with a structural engineer and a construction company. Inspections were carried out at critical points of the structure, and structural interventions were defined (new roof, asbestos removal, renovation of electrical, plumbing and heating systems) to ensure safety, energy efficiency and comfort.
The expertise of an interior architect was requested to supervise the entire renovation, starting from the identification and management of various suppliers (electricians, construction company, etc.), to rethink the spaces in a creative and functional way, and to integrate contemporary solutions and furnishings into a rustic environment, while remaining respectful of this historic place.
