Apartment renovation in Kirchberg, Luxembourg

100 m² Apartment

A turnkey project in Kirchberg

This apartment is part of a residential development delivered under the Fonds Kirchberg programme, through which the client purchased the property at regulated conditions. Within this framework, we were commissioned to carry out a complete interior renovation with bespoke furniture, focusing on optimizing the internal layout, functionality and overall living quality, while fully respecting the regulatory constraints associated with this type of housing.

The project

Despite being a relatively recent property, the apartment did not reflect the lifestyle or aesthetic aspirations of its new owners, a couple with a seven year old daughter who were ready to rethink the space entirely. Their brief was clear: to create an elegant, contemporary and quietly refined home with a bourgeois touch, one that could offer the same sense of comfort and identity as their previous residence in Germany.

The original layout was quite basic, with natural light entering only from one side of the apartment, which limited both spatial perception and flexibility. The design approach therefore focused on redefining the internal organization, enhancing the flow between spaces and using materials, bespoke joinery and a balanced palette to bring depth, warmth and a sense of permanence to the interiors.

The result

Greige kitchen and living area

Girl’s room

For the girl’s bedroom, the design aimed to balance playfulness and order, creating a space that could evolve with her as she grows. The solution is a custom study corner defined by a long, integrated desk and overhead storage, conceived as a calm and functional micro-environment for drawing, reading and homework.

The composition of open and closed compartments, combined with muted pastel tones, adds rhythm to the wall while allowing the child to personalize the space with books and objects. This solution keeps the floor area free, maximizes storage and maintains a light visual impact, in line with the overall understated elegance of the apartment.

Master bedroom

For the master bedroom, the concept focused on creating a calm and enveloping retreat, where materials and tones contribute to a sense of intimacy and quiet refinement. A warm, neutral palette sets the base of the room, enhanced by a large-scale botanical wallpaper that introduces depth and a soft decorative layer without overwhelming the space. The bespoke wardrobe was designed as a continuous, floor-to-ceiling volume with minimal detailing, integrating a recessed niche with subtle backlighting that functions both as display and ambient light. This interplay between clean architectural lines and gentle textures results in a balanced atmosphere, combining functionality, storage capacity and a discreetly elegant character aligned with the overall identity of the apartment.
